Sagwembala/Schooner Passage
The old village site of Sagwembala (“fern point”) was important for its halibut fishery and rich hunting grounds.
The village was inhabited well into the 20th century by a family of brothers at a time when very few people still lived in Seymour Inlet. The tiny 4.5 acre reserve with its five houses and gardens was originally intended to be an 80 acre reserve. Read more... Sagwembala |
